±«Óãtv faculty members present at the 23rdÌýInternational Conference on Aquatic Invasive Species

May 9, 2024 (Halifax, N.S.)Ìý– This year’sÌýÌý(May 12-16)ÌýwhichÌýhas over 330 registrants fromÌýmore thanÌý30 countries,Ìýwill be co-hosted by Dr. Sarah Stewart-Clark, Associate ProfessorÌýin ±«Óãtv’s Faculty of Agriculture. During the conference several ±«Óãtv faculty members will present their research as it pertains to aquatic invasive species.Ìý

±«Óãtv presenters include:

,ÌýAssociate ProfessorÌýin ±«Óãtv’s Faculty of Agriculture, will present his research on the risk of disease transfer when using invasive green crabs as bait in the lobster fishery.Ìý

, will discuss her research on how hurricanes impact coastal ecosystems and spread invasive species. This can be seen during the recovery and coastal protection process in recent extreme weather events like Hurricane Fiona.Ìý

,ÌýAssociate Professor & ±«Óãtv University Research Chair, in ±«Óãtv’s Faculty of Computer Science, will beÌýgiving a keynote address on the use of AI in aquatic invasive species management. More information about the conference can be found atÌý.
