CFI has recently released a Consultation Paper on the proposed Cyber-Infrastructure Initiative which has been designed “to provide Canadian institutions and their researchers with the infrastructure required to enable groundbreaking data-intensive and computationally challenging research in areas of strategic importance”. The Cyber-infrastructure Initiative is scheduled to be launched in October by CFI. The amount of funding available from CFI for this competition is $50M. This initiative is expected to support multi-institutional domain-specific data projects as well as the upgrade of the Compute Canada national platform.Â
Comments on the Consultation Paper should be sent to Nancy.Hayter@Dal.Ca by June 20. All comments will be compiled and forwarded to CFI by ±«Óătv Research Services.Â
If anyone is interested in submitting a team application to this competition, please contact Nancy Hayter as soon as possible and by June 20 at the latest. ±«Óătv expects to lead one application for this competition and if more than one ±«Óătv group comes forward, an internal competition may be necessary.Â
