1. POSITION:听听听听听 Lab Demonstrator - NUMT 2000, Radiopharmacy
听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 Winter (January 2015 - April 2015) - 6 hrs/week for 10 weeks
听
听听听听听 WORK ASSIGNMENT: Set-up/prepare equipment and/or site for the learning experience. Supervise, stimulate, challenge and monitor student听听 performance in a nuclear medicine lab setting, ensuring that the lab exercise is as safe and as effective a learning experience as possible.听听 Review submitted labs and provides written feedback to Professor of Record. Clean up of equipment/site after the learning experience.
听
听听听听听 Lab topics: operation of a dose calibrator, preparation of lyophilized kits using radioactive material, dose calculation, assay and dispensing听听听听听 techniques, organization of a radiopharmacy daily plan, receipt and storage of radioactive shipments and associated maintenance of records,听听听听听听 contamination monitoring of workspace and personnel.
听
听听听听听 REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Relevant training/experience in nuclear medicine technology.听 Good interpersonal skills required to work with听听听听听听 students. Above average understanding of听 radiopharmacy subject matter. Current CAMRT certification. Undergraduate or master鈥檚 degree听听听听听 preferred. Previous teaching experience is desirable.
听

2. POSITION:听听听听听 Lab Demonstrator for NUMT 3222, General Imaging II, Clinical Education
听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 Winter (January 2015 to April 2015) 鈥� 5 hours/week for 15 weeks
听
听听听听听 WORK ASSIGNMENT: Under guidance from faculty the successful candidate will evaluate student performance and provide feedback to students and听听听 faculty in a nuclear medicine clinical setting. The primary responsibility will be to serve as a clinical resource guide providing clinical听听听听听 evaluation and competency assessment. The successful candidate will collaborate with school faculty to ensure course objectives are met and听听听听听听 provide remedial assessments as required. This discipline specific course integrates theory to practice in all aspects of nuclear medicine听听听听 general imaging. Systems include: CNS, GI, GU, Endocrine, Respiratory, Skeletal and Tumour/Inflammatory.
听
听听听听听 REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Relevant training and substantial experience in nuclear medicine technology with demonstrated strong written and听听听 verbal communication skills. Current CAMRT certification. Undergraduate or master鈥檚 degree preferred. Previous teaching experience is听听听听 desirable.

3. POSITION:听听听听听 Lab Demonstrator Clinical Education Course NUMT 3240, Pediatric Nuclear Medicine听 听
听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 Winter (January 2015-April 2015) 鈥� 5 hours/week for 12 weeks
听听听听听听听听听 听
听听听听听 WORK ASSIGNMENT: Under guidance from faculty the successful candidate will evaluate student performance and provide feedback to students and听听听 faculty in a pediatric nuclear medicine clinical setting. The primary responsibility will be to serve as a clinical resource. The successful听听听听听 candidate will collaborate with school faculty to ensure course objectives are met and provide remedial assessments as required. This听听 discipline specific course critically evaluates the theory and practice of pediatric nuclear medicine. Topics include: developmental and听听听 psychological aspects of children and families, immobilization techniques, sedition, and pediatric pathologies encountered in nuclear medicine.
听
听听听听听 REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Relevant training/experience in nuclear medicine technology as well as currently working in a pediatric environment.听听听 Current CAMRT certification. Undergraduate or master鈥檚 degree preferred. Previous teaching experience is desirable.

4. POSITION:听听听听听 Lab Instructor for RADT 1020: Skeletal & Systems Radiography
听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 January 2015 - April 2015
听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听听 Lab time is scheduled for Tuesdays 8:30 am 鈥� 11:30 am
听
听听听听听 WORK ASSIGNMENT:听 The lab instructor will co-facilitate the lab component of RADT 1020, which consists of thirteen lab sessions.听 Seven of听听听 these lab sessions are clinical labs where the lab instructor will be responsible for orienting students to the clinical area, assigning听听 students to preceptors (where appropriate) and supervising the students in performing radiographic procedures.听 The remaining labs include听听 demonstrating/coaching students through positioning skeletal radiographic examinations, reviewing radiographic images and related anatomy, and听听听听 co-invigilating a lab test.
听
听听听听听 Total time:听 13 sessions @ 4 hours = 52 hours (3 hour lab plus 1 hour prep each week)
听
听听听听听 REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Certification in radiological technology, current membership with national and provincial professional associations,听听听听 recent clinical experience and experience precepting students are required.听 Excellent understanding of general radiographic procedures and听听听 imaging equipment is also required. Previous teaching experience is desirable. The successful applicant must have knowledge of the radiological听听 technology curriculum, enjoy working with students, and have good communication skills. Undergraduate and master鈥檚 degree preferred.
