Are you interested in how young children learn to classify and sort things? Makenna Cooke and Dr. Sophie Jacques in the Psychology and Neuroscience Department are looking for 4-, 5-, 6- and 7-year-olds to participate in a research study on the ways in which children classify new fruits. The study involves children sorting pictures of funny fruit in a computer game, as well as other paper-and-pencil and computer activities. We want to see if we can influence children’s default sorting styles, and whether doing so influences how they approach other problems. The study takes about 40-45 minutes to complete. If you have a child in this age range and want more information about this study, please contact Makenna Cooke at 902 494-8055 or by email at mk210842@dal.ca
