Position: Sessional Instructor
OCCU 5030.03 Advanced Research Theory and Methods for Occupational Therapists Winter Term 2017
Department:Â Â Â School of Occupational Therapy
Pay rate:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â In accordance with CUPE agreement
Work Assignment:Â The instructor is responsible for all aspects of teaching and administration of this web-based course, including preparation for weekly lectures and discussions, test and assignment preparation and evaluation of students. The instructor must be available for daily online interaction with students.
This 12-week web-based distance education course gives a comprehensive introduction to theory and epistemology underlying qualitative and quantitative research methods distinguishing between naturalistic and experimental approaches. It then focuses on the development and application of these approaches to research. Goals of the course are to develop facility in designing and pursuing research projects.Â
Requirements of position:Â
PhD preferred; MSc degree plus relevant research/teaching experience will be considered. Experience teaching/supervising students at the graduate level is highly desirable. Familiarity or experience with web-based distance education technology is preferred.
