There are two levels of voucher awards: Tier 1 vouchers cover projects valued at a maximum of $15,000 while Tier 2 vouchers cover projects valued at a maximum of $25,000.Ìý
- Mitacs Accelerate ProgramÌý(for students and post-doctoral fellows)Ìý
A faculty member or industry representative can initiate the application for this fundingÌý
Those awarded with Accelerate funding can receive up to $15,000 per 4-5 monthsperiods of a student working on a research project.

NSERC Alliance GrantsÌý
Researchers iniatiate the application for this funding with an industry partner’s support
NSERC Alliance Grants support collaborations between university researchers and partners in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. Projects can last anywhere between 1-5 years and focus on generating new knowledge and accelerating the application of research results to create benefits for Canadians. Grant amounts range from $20,000 - $1 million per year.Ìý

Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) offers support in the development of innovative products that lead to commercial success. University researchers are eligible to receive this funding, as are businesses, co-operatives, and research institutions.Ìý
