NSERC Alliance

NSERC is pleased to announce the launch of the , a unique opportunity aimed at addressing critical science and technology challenges that can play a pivotal role in Canada’s economy.

Alliance Missions grants will provide $100,000 to $500,000 per year for two years, to initiate research collaborations between Canada’s academic researchers and partners from private, public and/or not-for-profit partner organization(s). These grants will cover 100% of the eligible costs of research for a two-year period.Ìý

The proposed projects should catalyze the development of partnerships between university researchers and partner organizations; after the two-year period of the Alliance Mission grants, promising partnerships can then apply for Alliance grants for longer project durations.ÌýThe project proposals should be focused on addressing challenges that have emerged as a result of the pandemic and/or respond to new economic opportunities.ÌýProjects can be based on challenges identified by partner organizations that require research or research expertise.

Making connections between researchers and partner organizations 

Using the , NSERC will facilitate connections between researchers and partner organizations who have identified a research challenge that needs to be addressed. Please see below to learn how partners and researchers can participate.Ìý

Private-sector, public-sector and not-for-profit organizations

Are you from a Canadian private-sector, public-sector or not-for-profit organization that requires research to address a challenge that could help energize Canada’s economy? Could you benefit from scientific, technical or research expertise in the natural sciences and/or engineering? If so, submit your challenge to NSERC by completing . NSERC will communicate these challenges publicly to Canada’s post-secondary institutions by posting them on our  and connecting you with interested university researchers.
