World Coffee Day

World Coffee Café – Respecting Our Farmers and Respecting Our Environment


Improving farmer and environmental respect through our worship of coffee. Students are encouraged to share stories of coffee in their culture. Presented by Living Earth Council (Truro and Area), DASA (Dal AC), NSCC Student Union, Just Us! Coffee Roasters Co-op and Seeding Ideas: a seed Library.  This free event is a celebration of friendship which everyone is welcome to attend.

From 7-9pm the MacRae Library (±«Óătv Agricultural Campus) will feature a World Cafe with coffee samples from around the world, including Kopi Luwak (one of the most expensive coffees in the world that has been made from the part-digested coffee cherries eaten by the Asian palm civet)and Japanese jelly coffee, as well as a screening of the film "Black Gold". This film tells the story of  struggle to keep 74 000 Ethiopian coffee farmers from being exploited and has changed the way millions of people drink coffee.
