This workshop was hosted by TNAU – Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. It was unique opportunity to strengthen ties between Canadian and Indian Agri-institutions, increasing understanding, developing partnerships, and creating a platform to develop the robust roadmap and collaboration for Agri-education & skill development between Indian and Canadian institutions of SICI.
The Faculty of Agriculture has a long-standing relationship with TNAU. We offer a dual degree program for students at TNAU to come to Canada to complete their final two years on our campus. A group of students will also travel TNAU this spring on an international field course to learn about Agri-Food systems in India and a new joint doctoral program is also available.
During the workshop several sessions were dedicated specifically to agriculture research themes to discuss ideas for potential new research collaborations. Participants of the workshop also got to experience a cultural show of talents by TNAU students and explored TNAU’s 6th annual Botanical Garden Flower Show.
