±«Óătv’s Faculty of Agriculture and global leader in agricultural equipment, CASE IH, entered into a partnership agreement in 2010 to provide leading-edge farm machinery for teaching, research, and production.
In recognition of their outstanding support to the Agricultural Campus, CASE IH and Tidal Tractor were presented with the Friend of the Faculty Award on Monday, May 6th.
The value and commitment of this partnership was clear at the official announcement in 2014 when Robert Meier, Territory Sales Manager for CASE IH, stated “CASE IH is all about technology and the Agricultural Campus is the centre of excellence for agriculture in the Maritimes. It makes sense.”
This partnership is unique to ±«Óătv University and is the only one of its kind in Canada. Since 2010 CASE IH has partnered with local dealership Tidal Tractor (formerly JG VanOostrum Farm Equipment Ltd.) in providing over 130 units representing a retail purchase value over $10 million. Although an impressive dollar value, the value it adds to teaching, research, outreach, and production extends far beyond that.
“CASE IH and Tidal Tractor have provided an invaluable partnership,” explained Travis Esau, associate professor, Mechanized systems. “Their equipment has played a pivotal role in advancing Mechanized Systems and precision agriculture research and teaching here on campus. The collaboration, particularly the provision of Case IH tractors, has been critical for the academic and practical achievements in these fields.”
CASE IH and Tidal Tractor have demonstrated outstanding commitment to students, faculty and the industry served by ±«Óătv University.
“Their support of not only the overall success of the farming operations on our campus farm, but also the integral role they play in providing eye-opening, educational opportunities for students on our campus must not go unrecognized,” said Noah Fraser, a graduating student who recently completed a Diploma in Plant Science and a Bachelor of Technology in Small Business Management. “This long-standing partnership enables campus to harness the full potential of its farm, bringing students closer than ever to cutting-edge equipment, management practices, and technology.”
Congratulations to CASE IH and Tidal Tractor and the many friends behind the brand who work to make this possible.
“Our students and staff have the opportunity to see and use the latest technology in a full range of tractors for labs, research applications as well as farm and snow operations,” added Farm Manager Jean Lynds. “We take every opportunity to utilize them in the classroom and in our community.”
