Alumni & Friends

Stay in touch with us and other alumni

We are a tightly-knit community in the Classics Department, with long roots and alumni spread across the globe. Students and faculty make lifelong friendships and connections here. We encourage you to use our site to stay in touch with us, and with one another, long after graduation.

2022 ±«Óãtv Classics Alumni Summer Text Seminar

The Classics department was looking forward to the ±«Óãtv Classics Alumni Text Seminar (intended for 2020) thanks to your enthusiastic response regarding our plans to studyÌýSophocles’ and Euripides’ÌýElectraÌýplays. Although we had hoped to host this delayed event this year, we had to postpone those plans again for 2022 due to COVID-19.

After our first Alumni seminar in 2019 was such a success, we are incredibly excited to announce that our second seminar will not only be held in-person (regulartions and COVID-19 case numbers permitting!) but that there are now dates for it— we invite all interested alumni to join us on July 29th, 30th, and 31st, 2022 for our second Alumni seminar. This will be comprised of a viewing of Strauss' Elektra opera, followed by various sessions covering both plays. Please reach out to Dr. Eli Diamond for more details, at Eli.Diamond@dal.ca. We hope to see you there!

Alumni news and events

When we get news of our alumni, we often publish it in our newsletter. We usually hold events in the department at which alumni are welcome to attend. Please join us!

Connect with Classics alumni

Keep in touch with old friends. We provide information about what the alumni of the department are now doing and post up-to-date email address to enable our alumni to keep in touch.
