Performance Opportunities
At the Fountain School of Performing Arts, we want to give you as many opportunities for public performances as possible. We believe that public performance is a key element of learning music, so your time on stage will be strongly encouraged and supported by the faculty.Â
Music performances
Your weekly studio lessons are complemented by participation in ensembles that present regular concerts.
Each week, noon-hour recitals feature student soloists and ensembles, while our annual Concerto Night offers outstanding students an opportunity to perform a solo work with full orchestral accompaniment.
Several community organizations sponsor concert series in which students may be invited to perform, and all third and fourth-year students whose area of concentration is performance present a solo recital.
As well as student performances, the Fountain School sponsors an annual Faculty Chamber Recital Series, and our annual opera brings together students, faculty and community artists for a fully staged operatic production.
See for this year's calendar of events.
Other opportunities
Theprovides opportunities for qualified students, and  (SNS), a full-time professional orchestra, frequently invites exceptional students to join them for their public performances when extra players are required. Students may, in the fourth year of their program, audition for the SNS Apprenticeship, a full credit course which allows the student to supplement their income and gain valuable professional experience.
