Congratulations to Phd in Health student Myles O’Brien (MScKin ’18), who has been awarded a Level 2 Killam Predoctoral Scholarship and a ±«Óătv President’s Award. Myles’ academic background is in the field of objective physical activity and sedentary behaviour monitoring and vascular endothelial health.
Through his work, Myles has published 11 peer-reviewed papers since 2017, with 4 papers under review and 18 published conference abstracts, with two more under review. During his Master’s degree, he received a Heart and Stroke Foundation BrightRed Student Award, which recognizes excellent emerging cardiovascular and cerebrovascular researchers in Nova Scotia at differing stages of career development.
Myles’ current doctoral work is aimed at determining the influence that aerobic fitness, habitual physical and sedentary behaviours has on cardiovascular health in older adults.
