Word on the street

- February 1, 2007

Streets are a stage where the everyday drama of life is played out. There are good streets and bad streets, fun streets and boring streets, streets that could be anywhere and those to write home about.

ThatÕs why the ±«Óãtv School of Planning presents "Making Great Streets," a free conference which will explore the role of the street.

The conference takes place from Feb. 7-9 at Pier 21 and will feature lively speakers, engaging discussions and community visioning. As part of the conference, Mark C. Childs, Associate Professor at the School of Architecture and Planning at the University of New Mexico will speak at the 6th Annual Carmichael Lecture. The talk, which takes place on February 7, at 6 pm at Pier 21, is presented by the Downtown Halifax Business Commission (DHBC) in partnership with the ±«Óãtv School of Planning.
