Breast reconstruction is being recognized increasingly as an important part of complete breast cancer care. A research group in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at ±«Óătv University is looking into ways of optimizing reconstructive surgery for breast cancer survivors.
Researchers have developed an online survey designed to determine preferences regarding breast reconstruction in women who have undergone a previous mastectomy and reconstruction and are subsequently faced with a mastectomy on the opposite breast.
The online survey takes less than two minutes to do and is preceded by an explanatory video by principal investigator Dr. Leif Sigurdson.
“The best way to learn more about our survey is to try it yourself,” says Michael Bezuhly, MD, with the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery “We value the opinions of anyone affected by breast cancer.”
