On December 14, the fourth annual tv Legacy Awards will be held, the university-wide awards event to recognize faculty and staff who have gone above and beyond in their work and in the Dal community and beyond this past year.
The Legacy Awards feature a compilation of 21 awards from across the university, with more than 46 award recipients this year, including individuals and teams.
“The Legacy Awards are designed to show support for our peers and recognize the amazing things that our colleagues in the Dal community have done this past year, despite the many challenges we were faced with living and working through a pandemic,” says Jasmine Walsh, Dal's assistant vice-president, human resources. "The theme of the Legacy Awards event is ‘We make waves’ because that is what our employees do every day, whether you’re a researcher, teacher or a staff member. Our work has an impact on our university, but also on our broader community, Canada and the world.”
The Legacy Awards event is aligned with the university’s strategic plan as part of the Inclusive Excellence pillar that focuses on wellness, respect, supporting employees’ career aspirations and recognizing individuals and teams for their innovations and successes.
President Deep Saini and Walsh will host this year’s event, which will be virtual for a second time. Attendees will include the award recipients, senior leaders, award organizers and the Legacy Awards committee members.
