On Saturday, August 18, 2012, a group of about 50 alumni and their families journeyed to McNabs Island for the second annual alumni excursion. The forecast was a good one, although the temperatures got quite warm. Dr. Rebecca Jamieson, chair of the Department of Earth Sciences, shared her knowledge about the geology of Halifax, the harbour area, and McNabs Island. Rachael Mansfield and Nicole Dragatis, summer students with the Friends of McNabs Island, shared their knowledge about some of the natural history and historical background of the area.
