Instructor postings: School of Occupational Therapy

Applications are invited for two 10 month Limited Term Positions at the Instructor level in the School of Occupational Therapy starting August 1, 2013 (pending budgetary approval). These are academic positions that encompass teaching and administration. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. These are fixed term positions with no expectation for renewal.

The first limited term position (0.8 FTE) requires an occupational therapist with a completed master’s degree. Eligibility for licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia is also essential. Expertise in treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions is required; experience in additional areas of practice would be an asset. Previous teaching experience, student or group facilitation, and familiarity with online teaching technology is preferred.

The second limited term position (0.5 FTE) requires an occupational therapist with a minimum BSc(OT). Eligibility for licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia is also essential. Individual must have excellent communication, organizational and personal skills; minimum two years recent clinical experience; experience with student teaching/supervision and knowledge/familiarity with online teaching technology is preferred.Ìý Preference will be given to those with a Masters degrees completed or in progress. This position will be responsible for teaching, organizing and facilitating the laboratory program including simulated client exams, facilitating tutorial groups, marking and other support to full time faculty members. Administrative duties will include participation on School Committees and projects that support teaching
