WORK ASSIGNMENT:Ìý The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching NURS 2050.03F: Pharmacology and Nursing during the Fall Term, 2013. Responsibilities include delivery of course content, holding office hours, and the evaluation of the students.

The course is designed as an introduction to the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the major drug classes with an emphasis on application in the clinical setting. Interdisciplinary and collaborative aspects of the nurse’s role in administering and monitoring medications and their effects are explored. Students demonstrate dosage calculation, preparation and administration of medications in the laboratory setting. Legal, ethical and professional principles of accountability are examined.

Classes are scheduled on Tuesdays 11:05 – 11:55 hours; Wednesdays 12:35 – 13:25 hours and; Fridays 09:35 – 10:25 hours, from September 5 – December 3, 2013. The Part-time Academic reports directly to the Associate Director, Undergraduate Studies.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Candidates must hold a graduate degree in pharmacy with relevant expertise and teaching experience. PhD preferred.
