Phishing Phriday tip

Each week this month, we'll be sharing tips on protecting yourself from email scams, phishing and malware. ().

Today's tip: 1 fish, 2 fish, old phish (BIG, SHOUTING TEXT with typos), new phish (letter, logo and call to action).

The old ways of telling if an email is a scam are being replaced by more sophisticated asks that go to great lengths to look like they're coming from a professional email account. Remember: never clink links or open attachments in unsolicited email.

Avoiding phishing
    • Delete requests for your password
    • Don’t click links or open attachments in unexpected email
    • Be suspicious of any requests for financial information
    • Do not fill out forms embedded in email messages
    • Keep your web browser and plug-ins up-to-date
    • Avoid clicking links in private messages on social media sites that you were not expecting
