“Capturing the Impact of Collaborative Practice in Long-Term Care: The Nova Scotian Context” is an NSHRF REDI team development grant. The proposed team development project aims to extend our research partnerships beyond its current focus on a facility in Halifax to other LTC facilities throughout Nova Scotia.  Specifically, the team development grant aims to assist our team in completing necessary preparatory research development, including: expanding our literature review to include organizational change literature and interprofessional competency development; identifying existing tools and, where necessary, developing new tools to capture the impact of interprofessional initiatives on learners, staff, clients and the organization; and fostering additional partnerships with other LTC providers who would like to initiate and evaluate similar initiatives in their settings. Â
The Research Assistant will work with the collaborative research team, which consists of academic partners from ±«Óătv University and partners from the long term care sector. Â
Duties:
•   Update literature search using primary, grey, and online sources
•   Catalogue, maintain, and organize literature using a reference manager
•   Assist in gathering evaluation tools and developing an evaluation plan
•   Assist in coordinating research team
•   Complete REB application
•   Assist in preparation of grant application
•   Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and manuscripts
•   Other tasks as needed
Qualifications and Experience:
•   Master’s degree, or degree in progress, in relevant field (social or health sciences, health administration, applied health services research) or equivalent
•   Excellent writing and organizational skills
•   Strong communication skills, including telephone skills
•   Experience with collaborative research an asset
•   Experience with qualitative research an asset
•   Experience with program evaluation
•   Experience with REB applications an asset
•   Experience in long term care preferred
•   Ability to work independently, as well as within a collaborative, interprofessional team environment
•   Experience with Microsoft Office, database search engines, and reference management software
Part time: Approximately 10-20 hours/week
Term: 3-4 months (with possible extension)
Rate: $20-23/hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience
Start Date:Â Immediately, with flexibility over holidays
