Faculty posting: Rowe School of Business

The Rowe School of Business invites applications for two (2) five-year limited-term appointments in Accounting at the rank of Lecturer commencing July 1, 2014.

Applicants must have a Canadian professional accounting designation, and must have an MBA and/or significant professional/management experience. The successful candidates will be responsible for developing and delivering lectures and assessment in a variety of undergraduate and graduate level courses. Candidates must have a record of demonstrated teaching successes at both levels, including in classes larger than 50 students. Preference will be given to candidates with versatile teaching abilities, who are able to teach courses that lead to a Canadian professional accounting designation, in combinations required by the Rowe School of Business. These courses include Introductory Financial and Managerial Accounting, Assurance, Performance Measurement, Cost Accounting, and Accounting Policy Application.

Candidates must be willing to adapt to new technology in the classroom, and to adopt case teaching methods where appropriate. Experience in professional accounting education and/or executive education is desirable, as is a demonstrated interest in developing pedagogic materials. The successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the academic life of the School through committee work and other activities. Candidates must be able to meet the School’s accrediting body’s (AACSB) professional qualification requirements.

The Rowe School of Business is part of the Faculty of Management, which has a unique commitment to values-based management and interdisciplinary research and learning. Thus, the successful candidate will have opportunities to work with like-minded colleagues in the sister Schools of Public Administration, Information Management, and Resource and Environmental Studies within the Faculty.
