Healthy Workplaces: Interpersonal/Social Wellness

Posted by Human Resources on August 5, 2014 in Human Resources

In anticipation of the call for submissions for the 2014 Healthy Workplace Award at ±«Óãtv (), this post will highlight Interpersonal/Social Wellness.

What keeps employees loving their jobs is often the relationships they establish on the job, with co-workers, with supervisors, with the people they serve. The support and respect that comes from these relationships can be as fulfilling as the roles for which they signed on and become one of the reasons people go above and beyond in their jobs – they feel that others have their back so they can take appropriate risks, they don’t want to let others down, and they gain energy from positive interactions.

Successful work groups find ways to surface and overcome problems, tension, and disagreement in a healthy way. The ability to have difficult conversations is a key workplace skill. ±«Óãtv has created a series of videos demonstrating Dal employees having challenging conversations in a range of roles and situations. Each shows the conversation and describes the strategies that you are watching. They are available whenever you need some tips on how to address a challenge you might need to have a conversation about – .
