School of Social Work Continuing Education - Faculty Seminar Series:
SOCIAL JUSTICE & SOCIAL WORK: CONNECTIONS, CONTRADICTIONS, & COMPLEXITIES
ONLINE SEMINAR with CAROLYN CAMPBELL, PhD | APRIL 1 - 12, 2015
Are you drawn to social work because of the profession’s commitment to advancing social justice? Do you still believe that our profession has the potential to make the world a fairer and more equitable place? Do you grapple with how to
exercise this potential in the day to day realities of your practice? Do you wonder why social injustice continues to flourish and if we, as social workers, can really make a difference?
Dr. Carolyn Campbell, ±«Óãtv University School of Social Work Associate Professor, explores the idea that as social workers, we can increase our contributions to social justice through a critical examination of the assumptions that support our practice. In this seminar -- the second in our Faculty Seminar Series -- we consider the connections, contradictions, and complexities of actualizing social work’s social justice mandate.
