DALHOUSIE UNIVERSITY

Applications are invited for a limited term Instructor appointment in the Department of Biology at ±«Óãtv University. This appointment will be for 10 months, from August 1, 2017 to May 31, 2018.

The Instructor will be responsible for overseeing the laboratory portion of Biology 2020, Cell Biology. The position involves the development and teaching of the laboratory component of the course; coordinate class TA’s and technicians; general administration including handling of student issues, supervising TA’s, submitting grades, invigilating exam and tests, and communicating with students and other faculty.

Candidates should have an advanced degree in biology and previous teaching experience. Candidates must have experience teaching in large undergraduate classes and with online learning management systems. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to effectively work in a team environment. The candidate must have experience with mammalian cell culture.

The successful candidate will report to the Chair of the Department.

Salary will be according to qualifications and experience, as determined by the Collective Agreement between The Board of Governors of ±«Óãtv University and the ±«Óãtv Faculty Association.
