Full Time Career Stream Anatomy Instructor Position
Location: Faculty of Medicine, ±«Óãtv Medicine New Brunswick
The Department of Medical Neuroscience invites applications to fill a full-time career stream anatomy instructor position at ±«Óãtv Medicine New Brunswick (DMNB) at the Saint John, NB campus. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily operations of DMNB anatomy lab facilities including directing and overseeing the activities of a part-time technician. The Instructor will deliver anatomy components of the undergraduate medical curriculum including gross anatomy, histology, and neuroanatomy and will provide supplemental sessions and scheduled office hours. Additional responsibilities will include the development of an anatomy elective, resident and interprofessional education experiences and development and support of research opportunities for learners across the health sciences continuum. As a member of the Department of Medical Neuroscience the Anatomy Instructor may be assigned additional responsibilities by the Department Head. Educational resear! ch and scholarly activity will be encouraged and supported when focussed on innovation and improvement of anatomy teaching, distributed teaching methods or related domains.
The candidate must have an MSc in anatomy or a related field and have experience teaching gross anatomy, neuroanatomy, embryology and histology and managing an anatomy laboratory. Experience with proper care, handling, tracking and use of human cadaveric material is essential. Additional training and experience in education, research and other scholarly activity would be an asset.
