WORK ASSIGNMENT:Ìý The part-time academic instructor will be responsible for co-teaching NURS2740.06: Nursing and Family Health during the Winter term of the academic year 2017-2018.
Nurses combine knowledge from primary health care and public health, social and nursing sciences, recognizing the uniqueness and diversity in family systems to support transitions that occur across the life course. Understanding health promotion, protection and prevention of illness in the context of family development is the focus
This is a 6 credit hour course consisting of 3 lecture hours twice per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 08:35 – 11:25, from January 8, 2018 through April 10, 2018. This contract runs from January 1, 2018 through April 30, 2018. The part-time academic instructor reports directly to the Associate Director, Undergraduate Studies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Development of teaching and learning activities related to course-specific topics (e.g., conducting a family assessment)
- Co-teach course content
- Assessment and evaluation of student learning
- Use of Brightspace for course delivery
- Responding to student queries about coursework in collaboration with the other co-teacher
- Attending initial instruction with Instructional Learning Online services re: Brightspace
- Participation in course discussions within the program
- Develop and administer examinations
- Submission of grades
- Follow up with students as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Candidates must hold a graduate degree in Nursing, or related field, with relevant expertise and teaching experience. PhD preferred.
