POSITION:Ìý Ìý Research Assistant: approx. 10 hours/week for 14 weeks or by arrangement

WORK PERIOD:Ìý Ìý May 22 – August 24, 2018

DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Faculty of Science, Department of Biology

PAY RATE:Ìý Ìý$20/hr + 7% benefits

WORK ASSIGNMENT:ÌýThe research assistant will develop online modules to support undergraduate biology students in writing each of the components of a scientific paper. In consultation with the development team the assistant will: synthesis content from multiple sources to develop content and prepare instructional materials and scripts for Panopto video tutorials; develop and implement online quizzes; establish a central Brightspace page for content delivery.

REQUIREMENTS OFÌý ÌýUndergraduate degree completed in Biology or a related field,

POSITION: Ìýgraduate degree in progress or completed in Biology or a related field, strong interest in teaching writing and critical thinking, outstanding writing skills, and experience preparing scientific manuscripts. Previous experience teaching writing to undergraduates is an asset.
