POSITION: PART-TIME OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY INSTRUCTORS:
WINTER TERM 2019
Winter: January - April 2019:
These positions will be responsible for assisting with, lab coordination and general support for course instructors, assessment library management, evaluation support and OSCE support for the following courses:
- OCCU 5111/OCCU 5222 Fieldwork: Labs for OCCU 5111 are Tuesday afternoons (1:30-3:30) and alternating Friday afternoons. The individual will also be supporting the professor of record for OCCU 5222 course preparations. (30 hours/month January-April).
- OCCU 5005 Enabling Occupation 2: Labs are Wednesday mornings 9:00-12:30. The individual will also be supporting the professor of record in lab preparation, assessment library management, signing in and out equipment plus maintenance of equipment, Equipment Fair organization, lab space management, OSCE support. (34 hours/month January-April)
- OCCU 5006 Wellness and Inclusion by Design & Technology:Ìý Labs are Thursday mornings (9:00-12:00). The individual will also be supporting the professor of record in lab preparation, assessment library management, signing in and out equipment plus maintenance of equipment, Equipment Fair organization, lab space management, OSCE support. (34 hours/month January-April)
PAY RATE: According to the CUPE Collective Agreement
WORK ASSIGNMENT: Under the guidance of the Course Professor the lab coordinators and teaching support instructors will be required to prepare materials in advance of labs, to work in a timely manner to prepare and manage equipment and room set up pre and post labs, and to work to support the tutors and course instructor to support efficient coordination of the labs. In addition to the assignments listed above, Instructors may be required to attend on-site special events labs or exams on alternative days with advanced notice. Off-site preparation for some
courses may also be required. Instructors are required to attend orientation sessions prior to the academic term (to be scheduled). As time permits, other duties may be required to assist with lab preparation, support for course instruction, management of data online on educational sites, develop and prepare cases, coordinate and manage efficient assessment library daily/weekly operations and/or delivery of events related to course work and special events.
REQUIREMENTS: All positions: excellent communication and organizational skills and scheduling flexibility. Experience and knowledge/familiarity with educative distance technologies will be an asset. Good computer skills and use of the internet required for literature searches and course support. Must hold an entry-to-practice qualification in occupational therapy. A Master’s degree is preferred. Current registration as a licensed occupational therapist required.

WORK ASSIGNMENT: Using internet technology (Brightspace), the Teaching Assistant will assist course instructors with the online delivery of Disability Management Certificate Program courses and evaluation of students.Ìý
