°Őłó±đĚý has been revamped, and we’re excited to share with you some changes and new features. The site itself has a new look, to improve the experience of finding and reading posts within our different contribution categories. In addition to How Tos, Articles, Reflections, and Reviews, you’ll find a new category in the top bar navigation: “That’s Nifty!” Nifty things are small, but potent, pedagogical tactics that satisfyingly, efficiently, or elegantly solve or achieve a teaching & learning problem or goal—sometimes, all we need is one nifty thing to shake up our teaching!
Additionally, FOCUS is bringing back thematic issues with our new blog feature, Symposia. These will be collections of contributions from different voices across campus addressing a single topic or theme, published twice a year. Contributions to the first symposium will be published in Fall 2024, on the topic of hybrid-flexible (“hyflex”) course delivery. If you are interested in contributing to the symposium, or have an idea for a FOCUS piece, email the editor, Kate Crane: kate.crane@dal.ca

Beginning as a quarter-annual printed newsletter, FOCUS moved to an online blog format in 2020. From the beginning, it has long been a place for staff, graduate students, post docs, and faculty to contribute thought on the changing and definition-resistant nature of teaching and learning, reaching across disciplinary boundaries to engage one another with stories, problem-solving, inspirations and inquiries from our teaching and learning lives.Â
