Born in Schenectady, New York, Professor John Barnstead has had a profound impact on ±«Óãtv Russian Studies students. Considered by his students to be one of the most helpful and inspiring professors, Professor Barnstead played an important role in the growth of the Russian Department.
The Professor John Barnstead Award is being established to honour him upon his retirement.
Eligibility
- The Professor John Barnstead Award will be given annually to one or more student(s) who show(s) an outstanding dedication to the Russian language and a commitment to their studies as demonstrated through a solid academic performance.
- The recipient should be an individual who is participating in the Study Abroad Program during the calendar year following the award presentation.
- An award in the amount of $500 will be awarded in December of each year. In the event that additional money has been received, additional awards may be issued.
