A specialized resource centre
Located in the heart of Halifax, CIFT, at ±«Óãtv University has been providing a specialized resource centre for research and education in Food Science, Safety and Engineering, since 1989. To accomodate the changing needs of Atlantic Canadian industries, CIFT has recently broadened its scope to include the fermented products sector. The institute's mission is to provide a wide range of services to the local food industry.
CIFT is a specialized resource center of advanced technology for research in food science and process engineering with an emphasis on food fermentation. The Institute promotes technology transfer and the development of advanced technologies aimed at more effective commercial utilization of fermentation sector and marine resources in Canada and throughout the world.
