I am very disappointed to share the news that the fresh-cut daffodils meant for this week’s Canadian Cancer Society fundraiser arrived at the society’s Nova Scotia division damaged in transport, and are not suitable for resale. Unfortunately, this means your generous orders from across the Dal community, along with all other orders in the Province, are cancelled.
Those of you who placed an order with your department’s champion can contact them to collect your donation.
However, you are welcome and encouraged to keep your donation with the Canadian Cancer Society, as the organization would appreciate your support. By not being able to go through with the campaign, the society risks losing $250,000 in revenue — funds that help provide services and programs, advocate for better public policy and invest in more research in the fight against cancer.
I will be on-site at the Henry Hicks Building today during the originally scheduled pick-up time (11:30-2 p.m., Suite 150, Human Resources) to receive donations and will coordinate tax receipts as well. Daffodil pins are still available, and additional pins were ordered in lieu of flowers if you would like one.
Had the campaign gone through as planned, ±«Óãtv would have placed the largest workplace order in Nova Scotia for the third year in a row, contributing over $7,000 to the Cancer Society. Please consider donating.
With gratitude,
