Our research is focused on developing sustainable methods to produce advanced battery materials that are sustainable and environmentally friendly battery chemistries. We collaborate closely with industry to develop low-cost, eco-friendly manufacturing processes and innovative battery recycling methods to enhance the sustainability of battery materials.
Our research group is a dynamic and collaborative environment that brings together individuals from diverse academic backgrounds. From high school students to postdoctoral researchers, we offer a unique platform for scientific interaction, growth, and innovation. This fosters excellent opportunities for hands-on learning, allowing for a deeper understanding of both the theoretical and practical aspects of battery and material science.
We also prioritize community within our team through various engagement programs, including weekly group meetings, monthly lab discussions, and yearly outings. These initiatives strengthen the bonds within the group and foster an environment where ideas are freely exchanged and collaboration thrives. Additionally, our team actively participates in conferences, providing opportunities for members to present their research, exchange knowledge, and stay at the forefront of scientific developments.
We invite you to explore our current team, publications, and facilities, all designed to support and advance groundbreaking research in the field.
Collaborations and Partnerships
The Obrovac Research Lab is proudly supported by the NSERC/NOVONIX Industrial Research in Advanced Battery Materials, enabling us to advance cutting-edge research in battery technologies. Additionally, we are supported by a Mitacs grant, fostering strong collaborations between academia and industry. The lab also benefits from Volt-Age seed funding, which announced support for our battery recycling project. Furthermore, our research is supported by NSERC Discovery Grants, which provide vital funding to explore fundamental research in battery science and technology.
Please visit the Research section to learn more about our exciting projects. If you're interested in joining our team for a Master's,ÌýPhD, or Postdoctoral position, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact Dr. Mark Obrovac for more details on how you can contribute to our groundbreaking research.
