±«Óãtv's periodontics program is designed to train clinicians for the specialty practice of periodontics, using an evidence-based approach. We emphasize thoroughness of patient evaluation, accuracy in diagnosis and treatment planning, and evidence-based approaches to treatment.
The program involves a variety of clinical experiences to help you gain competence in the management of periodontal diseases and mucogingival defects, temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD), dental implant therapy, and conscious sedation. Completion of a research thesis is also a requirement for this degree.Ìý
Careers
Upon graduation, you will meet the requirements for certification and licensure as a dental specialist in periodontics in Canada and the United States and be qualified for academic educational positions. You will also be eligible to sit fellowship exams for the and the .
